Alicante, located on Spain’s east coast, is the most well known place on Costa Blanca and the starting point for thousands of tourists every year who arrive at Alicante’s Airport to then go on to other tourist destinations nearby such as Benidorm, Altea and Villajoyosa. Alicante is a charming city with a picturesque harbour, an amazing boulevard lined with palm trees, miles of sandy beaches and very interesting historical buildings. The castle of Santa Barbara dominates the city offering the most amazing views over the harbour. The cathedral, the monastery of Santa Faz, the Archaeological Museum and the Modern Art Museums are also worth a visit. Alicante offers a wide range of tourist facilities including water sports, good shops, nice restaurants and a lively nightlife.
