From the Airport

By taxi - Bilbao Airport is only 12 kilometres from the city centre in the city limits of Loiu, therefore the easiest way to get to the city centre is by taxi. The price is around 20 Euros each way.

By bus - The airport bus is a cheaper option, it runs every half hour and costs €1,50.

Around Bilbao

By underground - Bilbao has a modern and efficient metro system which is safe and easy to use. Trains run from early morning to 11pm Sunday to Thursday. On Fridays they run until 2am and on Saturdays they run 24 hours. In peak hours the trains come every few minutes, and off peak you will never wait more than 10 minutes and usually less.

By tram -  a tram and light rail system complements the metro service. Currently the system is only 4.4 km long with 12 stops between Basurto to Atxuri. The trams run along the grass covered tracks along the riverside making it a good service for a sightseeing tour of the new Bilbao.

By bus - a network of buses services the whole city

By taxi - taxis a re readily available and reasonably priced

However, given its size, the great thing about Bilbao is that everywhere is walkable. You can easily walk to any place of interest.

Trains
Bilbao is connected to the main Spanish cities by RENFE trains.
