Seville travel guide

Seville, situated on the bank of the Guadalquivir River, is the southernmost and largest city in Andalusia. Flamenco dancers, bullfights and sunshine are certainly very representative of this city where any excuse is a good one to celebrate. Spring is a particularly lively time with the Easter celebrations and the April Festival including parades on horseback and street dancing. Background to famous operas such as Carmen, Don Giovanni and Figaro, Seville will always evoke flamenco dancing and toreros. Seville has one of the largest historical centres in Europe dominated by the minaret of La Giralda offering outstanding views over the city that are definitely worth the climb. Part of its treasure include the Alcázar Palace, Casa de Pilatos, the Town Hall, the Fine Arts Museum with the second largest picture gallery in Spain and the Archive of the Indies storing the historical records of the American continent. The Triana district across the other side of the river is a lively place with the picturesque narrow streets around the Church of Santa Ana and the traditional ceramic workshops. The mild all year round climate make Seville a popular holiday destination with hips of Spanish culture and festive spirit.
