January
The parade of the wise men - The Three Kings parade through the streets in colourful horse carriages and throw sweets and gifts to the crowd.

February
Carnival - The carnival is celebrated all over Spain and involves dressing up in mask costumes, parading and dancing on the streets.

March-April
Festival de la Musica Antigua - Held at the Lope de Vega theatre in downtown Seville, this event features   a multitude of events and concerts focusing in Baroque music.

Semana Santa - Holy Week celebrations take place all over Spain, but the most famous of Spain’s Easter weeks is in Seville. Dramatic processions remember the steps of Christ before his crucifixion and resurrection: members of the city’s 52 parishes parade through the city streets. The floats are accompanied by hooded nazarenos and cross- carrying penitentes.

Feria de Abril - The April Fair is a week long celebration featuring many Andalusian cultural events, but most of all it consists of round-the-clock flamenco parties. On the south side of the Puente de la Barqueta, the bridge that crosses Río Guadalquivir, there is a canvas city known as Real de la Feria, where over 1000 brightly-coloured marquees are covered in decorations and paper lanterns, becoming a temporary home to thousands of revellers, packed day and night with flamenco dancers. People from Seville dress up in their flamenco gear and dance all night.
 
May
Cruces de Mayo - Taking place on the first week of May this event celebrates the arrival of spring and the joy of Christ's Resurrection. Sevillians decorate their homes with flower crosses and gather to eat and party.

June
Romería del Rocío - A picturesque and moving pilgrimage to the sanctuary of the Virgen del Rocío in Huelva province. Leaving from all over Andalucía, people descend on the small town in all manner of transport, including colourful ox carts.

Corpus Christi - This religious event 60 days after Easter Sunday includes important processions in Seville featuring a variety of well-loved religious images.


July
Potaje de Utrera - This is an important flamenco festival that takes place in the town of Utrera, easily reached from Seville by local train.

International Guitar Festival - Starting on the first Sunday of July the festival takes place in Córdoba and features mostly classical and flamenco forms.

September
Bienal de Flamenco Held every September in even years, this major flamenco event is held in various venues around the city.

Feria de San Miguel - One of Seville's major annual events, this festival includes displays of horsemanship, bullfights and performances by the Real Escuela de Arte Ecuestre de Jerez (Jerez Royal Equestrian School). Flamenco song, guitar and dance and a huge attractions park for children are also featured.

December
Dia de la Immaculada - This event commemorates the Immaculate Conception of Mary every year on the 8th of the December. There are beautiful flower displays at the Monument of the Virgin Mary as well as religious songs.
